Systems And Batteries

from Dragons [Deluxe Edition] by Clint Slate

/

about

May 2020, in order to cheat boredom during the containment,
three musicians send each other improvised tracks,
without knowing what the others are doing, without thinking,
playing with spontaneity, exploring the frontier of habits,
drifting in the stream of consciousness,
exploring the possibilities of cut-up and chance...

A musical and virtual "exquisite corpse" takes place.

As soon as a sound is received, it is reworked, denatured,
recreated to give life to something new.
Each track has a random name which is itself
entered into a word generator to find the lyrics,
flirting with nonsense, abstract and surrealism.

Then images appear, the songs find their shapes
and nine pieces come to life, modern chimeras grouped together
in an unexpected album: ‘Dragons’.

Each song was turned into a video available at:

lyrics

The actual date or century
Converts inches into regions and temperatures
Expanded snow squall
Standard dimensions

Beating seconds and differences
Dry measures sorted by size
Before the royal drums of the parliament
Electric cars browse trading centers

Imperial common unit
Imperial views
Theoretical tools and technology measure something here

Original cubic spectre
A decimal Fahrenheit per mile suggests life
Vivid and bold trade below the current
Building sales by the pound
The sleek crown and the rammed audience
Symbols and links, systems and batteries

Outstretched arms math apothecary
October’s fingerprints on imperial gallons
Technology measures something here

Three men, the size of October
Three men, the weight of purposes
Three men, the height of January
Does Victoria define Utopia?
(x2)

Outstretched arms
